I have had my music blog for a little over a year now. I want to outline the reasons why I love it and the reasons to start a music blog.
1. It Acts as a Time Capsule
Wether your music blog is centered around your own personal music journey or just the music stuff you love, you will be able to look back at your old blog posts and see what musical things you were doing/loving.
On my blog, I do a series called Music Favorites of the Month. This is where I outline the music-related things I discovered and loved throughout the different months of the year. I’m excited to look back at these posts in a couple years and remember the things I used to like and get excited about.
If you want to blog about your own personal music journey, you’d be able to look at how far you’ve come in your skill level.
2. It is a Unique, Fulfilling Hobby that Requires No Experience
Starting this music blog was the perfect blend of creativity and learning. I had so much fun creating the overall look and vibe of my blog. It was definitely a different creative endeavor for me, but I loved the process.
Additionally, I did a lot of research before and during the creation of this blog. I previously had no experience with WordPress, hosting platforms, etc. It was extremely fulfilling that I got to learn new things during the whole process.
3. It is the Ultimate Me-Time
About half a year into my blogging journey, I actually didn’t have internet. It was just not an extra bill I needed at the time.
So every once in a while I would go to a local tea shop down the street to use their wifi.
This tea shop just had the perfect vibe. It was the ultimate Portland aesthetic with trendy plants, outdoor seating, beautiful furniture, etc. I would get a boba tea and sit for hours by myself, batch-working multiple blog posts.
And that was my get-out-of-the-house me, myself, and I time.
